these actually did not solve the problem :/ i'm not getting a plugin error, its full text reads: "Module C:\Program Files \Vegas\Movie Studio Platinum 17.0\sfvstwrap.dll failed to register HRESULT -2147163964. Contact your support personnel."

This happened suddenly. Worked a week ago. Hadn't used it for a few days. Came back today, double clicked the icon to open it up and bang, that error. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling, cannot reinstall--same error message. Computer name hasn't changed--does not appear to be that c++ issue described.

GOT IT--so, did a couple things--not exactly sure which is the one that did it but: 1) updated my nvidia drivers to the most recent studio version; 2) uninstalled the corresponding C++ package then reinstalled it 3) uninstalled my Vegas Studio Software then reinstalled it--it now works again.
