Suggestion - Better accessibility (bigger things)

We should have an option to make the icons on the toolbars bigger. Especially for those of with huge monitors or bad eyes or both. Scaling / dealing with windows settings is not a good thing and i can see how easy it would be to just have an option for "bigger" buttons in the options.

Might also be nice if there was a way to have a thicker cursor to grab on the timeline.

Agreed, display scaling on a 4K monitor with Vegas looks pretty baad.

What works for me best on my 28" 4K screen is to 'Disable display scaling by > Application', whilst having Scaling set to 175%.

I have some other apps that 'prefer' 200%...

This gives me readable text and small-ish but OK icons even though a little fuzzy..but then again, I got lazer-eyezzz..I guess its a matter of trying or waiting for another useful update..

my current Win10/64 system (latest drivers, water cooled) :

Intel Coffee Lake i5 Hexacore (unlocked, but not overclocked) 4.0 GHz on Z370 chipset board,

32GB (4x8GB Corsair Dual Channel DDR4-2133) XMP-3000 RAM,

Intel 600series 512GB M.2 SSD system drive running Win10/64 home automatic driver updates,

Crucial BX500 1TB EDIT 3D NAND SATA 2.5-inch SSD

2x 4TB 7200RPM NAS HGST data drive,

Intel HD630 iGPU - currently disabled in Bios,

nVidia GTX1060 6GB, always on latest [creator] drivers. nVidia HW acceleration enabled.

main screen 4K/50p 1ms scaled @175%, second screen 1920x1080/50p 1ms.

Thanks AV, I'll experiment. It's great to be part of the Vegas Pro fam now because I was able to remove all the buttons I dont' use so I don't keep clicking the wrongs things like I used to on Movie Studio. :) Yay 4k monitors and bad eyes!

I had this same issue using a high-res monitor w/ Sound Forge Pro 11 and SF Pro 12 (beta). The toolbar icons were smaller than pin heads. My Magix beta test contact, addressed this and states that future releases of SF Pro 12, will not have this issue. Maybe a similar code tweak can be applied to VP.

As with Sound Forge, earlier versions do not have this issue and neither does VP-9. FWIW, I don't know if this will work with Vegas Pro, but for SF, I played around with the compatibility settings in Win 10 and came up with this setting which enlarged the toolbar icons.

- Right-click Sound Forge Pro shortcut or .ex and select "Properties> Compatibility" Under Settings, check-mark the box for "Override high DPI scaling behavior" and select "Scaling performed by: System (Enhanced)> Click Apply and SF Pro should run with more comfortably sized icons.

For what it's worth, by default, VEGAS 14 and 15 run automatically using the System high dpi scaling by default (in Windows 10). This does result in an interface with the "fuzzy" graphics, but the application should scale appropriately to what your Windows settings are for scaling.

Windows 7 works differently in high dpi situations. We have worked to make the Vegas look decent for Windows 7, but in general, if you using high dpi scaling for your monitor, you should be using Windows 10.

As time goes on and we continue to rework the graphical user interface, we are adding better application support for high dpi displays so we do not have to rely on Windows to do that scaling.
