Suggestion : OpenFX overlay / OpenFX api 1.4 ( even the upcoming 1.5 )

OFX overlay is a form of control that can adjust OFX directly on the preview window.

Vegas currently only supports point-based overlay controls, which can only provide simple control. But cannot control rotation, scale, aspect ratio, etc like the complete OFX overlay.

The complete OFX overlay seems to need Vegas to update the OFX API to the latest 1.4 before it can be supported. Now OFX API 1.5 is coming soon (https://github.com/ofxa/openfx/blob/master/release-notes.md#release-notes---15-upcoming) .

If Vegas can update to the latest and support the complete OFX overlay, that will make it very convenient for users to adjust OFX directly in the preview window! It also prevents some new versions of OFX plugins with OFX overlay from abandoning Vegas ( for example, Filmconver Nitrate abandons Vegas because of OFX overlay https://www.filmconvert.com/plugin/ofx ).

@lan-mLMC Yep that would be nice, those tiny little + crosses are hard to work with, zoom in & out so you can work off screen would be good, sometimes grabbing those on the corners i grab the screen instead of the point, some of the effects i have have a few points on the screen, those seem to disappear from view depending on where they are, to find them again i have to lower the opacity level of the event so they stand out,

I posted this on the request post,

Please make the points on screen more visible,

I've highlighted in red where they are but without moving the controls in the FX window it's impossible to find them, even just making them pink or green would help.

Even zoomed in in a photo editor they're hard to see 😒😒😒

Many of the Boris effects i have use those sort of on screen controls, but they're not there in Vegas, so as you say a better control overlay would be good,

@Former user In Vegas Pro 20 b214, a slight improvement was made : https://i.imgur.com/XorkUmF.jpg

Yep, it seems a bit improved - but we are still a long way from the state of the art in this. Maybe this is something they can now focus on for the next release build. I'm assuming that the work done to provide preview zoom at long last (and kudos to the team for achieving that) puts them on a more stable footing for this kind of thing

Some new infrastructure has been put in place. We are actively looking to update this part of the OFX support.
