SUGGESTION: Remember last project when Movie Studio crashes

Could the developers please make it so Movie Studio remembers the current/last project when the program crashes? Currently, Movie Studio "forgets" what project it was working on and it no longer appears in the Recent Files list. All the developers need to do is save the project entry as soon as the project has loaded, rather than when the program is closed. Because if it crashes, it doesn't "close" and save that entry.

Have you ticked "automatically open last project"? some times it's annoying but for you it could be good.

That option already is in the latest VMS.
You are able how, where, when and how many times your project will be automatic saved for further use also in case of a crash.

Having said that, it doesn’t do what I was talking about. If you’re willing, try this: edit an existing project, save it under a new name, eg v1.1, even do another quick edit if you want to, then simulate a crash by forcing your computer off. When you restart and go to open your last project, it’s not listed (particularly in the Most Recent opened files list; sometimes you have to navigate all over again to find and load that last project. A mistake can also be made by opening the previous one that *is* listed and missing all your latest edits. :)

Which settings do you use in that Vegas Option for advanced save?

These are mine with very good results, you can also use "Live safe" but that I don't need.

Mine is set the same except 4 minutes instead of 1. I'll try 1 min autosave, but I don't think it will help because remembering last project loaded is different than saving the project.

In the past I've used "automatically open last project" but found that, when Movie Studio crashes, it auto-loads the PREVIOUS project, not the one being worked on when the program froze or crashed.

Oh.. now I understand you better, my other NLE does so. first run after a crash it will loads an "Untitled" project with alert to save it or discard. But it isn't with the very last edits as it relays on the autosave, so if that is set too long it can be useless

One of the "selling point" for VMS16 is that it constantly saving,

I don't know how it works and how to load it.

Oh yeah, for that you click on “Tools” in the top menu, then “Advanced Save”, then “Live Save”. I’ll also give it a try to see if it’s useful or not.

Update: I tried the Live Save option. I turned it on and did some edits and then force closed the app. When I relaunched Movie Studio, not only was the saved project not listed but the Live Save option was OFF - it was back to my previous setting of automatic backups at 4 minute intervals. So the program is definitely lacking the ability to save settings BEFORE an app crash. Since no-one from Magix is chiming in, I guess I need to report it directly to Support.
