Suggestions for 1.0d or 2.0

Hey,

I've now successfully authored three different DVD's with DVD-A and haven't once had a coaster. For reference, I'm using a Sony DRU-500AX in an external Pyro case. I'll save my general praise and criticisms for later, but for now here are some ideas I'd like to request from the wizards at SoFo:

More dynamic volume naming at the burn window - I've made the mistake today of burning two different projects with the same volume name because it never changes regardless of which project is open. Either assign the default volume name as the name of the .dar currently active, or make the volume naming a more obtrusive step, like a pop-up window, or...provided a specific .dar has already been rendered, make the volume name set until the author decides to change and save it from within the active .dar in question.

Subtler controls of object movement and size adjustment - I'd love to be able to "nudge" objects with the arrow keys instead of having them snap to grid or be completely free-form.

User-specified priority on alignment and size adjustment commands - when a series of objects are highlighted and I choose to "align bottom" or "make same height" it is a seemingly random object that is given the priority to which all other objects align themselves. This is pretty frustrating, and it might be wise to allow the user to right-click a specific object within a group and have a contextual menu option allow for "align with this object" or "conform all sizes to this object."

Maybe I've missed this option, and if so please point me in the right direction, but I'd love to be able to control the timing of menu link appearance. I have a DVD authored that opens the main menu with a still image that was rendered out of Vegas with track motion and some generated text that fades in on delay. I'd like to be able to let the image fade in, go through its track motion and have the text fade in, and only after these events are complete do I then want my menu links to appear.

Otherwise...

I think I've spent about fifteen minutes altogether reading the DVD-A manual, mostly to make sure I wasn't missing the above suggestions, and I'm wowed in big ways with how DVD-A allows me to create professional looking products with ease. The "generate scene selection menu" feature is a trip! And assigning things like video files to chapter links is just awesome...

Of course I can throw my voice in with the others who are making criticisms about the lack of alternate audio tracks and whatnot, but overall the program is fantastic.

Thanks,

- jim

This part, at least, is already there. Use "ALT-<Arrow>" to move in big jumps, and "CTRL-ALT-<Arrow>" to move by pixels.

They will all be set to match the "yellow" one. I believe it is the LAST one selected.

Did DVD_A get sold to Sony along with Vegas & Sound Forge?

Nmace, I believe the answer is yes, Sony bought all of SoFo's "desktop software."
