Suggestions for 4k video source

Hi everyone :)

I'm trying to use some 4k video I shot with a DJI Phantom 4 drone: those are mp4 4k files, compressed with

Codec: H264 - MPEG-4 AVC (part 10) (avc1)

When loaded in Vegas 15, they perform quite badly, and if I load two and try to do a crossfade, it pretty much locks up.

My PC is quite Hi Spec, so I don't think the issue is there.

Do you have any suggestions, like converting the files into a better format for editing?

Cheers!

Alex

Sorry for not going in detail on my hardware, here's the spec:

Intel i7 6 cores/12 threads

Geforce gtx 970

32 gb ram

Ssd drive for vegas cache

I think it's quite hi-spec, but maybe I'm wrong :)

DJI AVC files play very poorly in VP15 with the new so4compoundplug codec. You should disable it if you haven't already, so that they open with compoundplug instead.

@Nick Hope

I have not that problem.
Video is made with so4compoundplug enabled, so to me it seems not to be a common problem.

Which drone? What settings? Could you please post MediaInfo for a file (and/or share a file)?
