I will try it tomorrow. I didn't realize that x264 was form of H.264. Duh!
Learning all about codecs from this thread.
I will try x264 tomorrow and see if it works.

X264 is actually the preferred way to render mpeg4.

I'd avoid using h.264/x264 because of its missing standardization for sizes above 4k.

Yes, HEVC is the format to use for this need, if you're rendering using render+.
