Support for AVCHD with Platinum?

I am planning on getting a Sony Handycam HDR-SR11 which uses the AVCHD format. I wanted to confirm that Movie Studio Platinum works with this format. If so, is there any significant problems?

After you apply the free update 8.0d, yes, it works.

I installed the new updates but I am still having trouble. I have a Canon HG10 AVCHD camcorder. I may be forced to buy new software. Do you have any recomendations?

Vegas Platinum 8.0d update DOES work with both HG10 and SR11/12. If you have troubles, then the problem is on your side. What problems do you have *exactly*?

Every time I try to import or preview video a window pops up stating that the format is unsupported. I've tried defragmenting, changing preferences, etc.

I suggest you re-install the latest update. The 8.0d of Vegas Platinum does support your camera perfectly.
