Surround Bussing

In the past i have always built my surround mixes from stereo sources. However, my new camera records 5.1 and i am trying to find a way to BG all channels at once without having to adjust a volume envelope on each of 4 tracks. Assigning all 4 tracks to a buss downmixes them to stereo. Is there any way i can group together 4 surround tracks and rubber band the level?

[edit] ganging the 4 tracks of the surround audio together and using automation to adjust all 4 tracks at once is my workaround for the moment.

It seems to me that what you need to do is first go to the audio portions of the options page and make sure Vegas is set for surround (with appropriate output channels) and not just for stereo. Then your tracks should automatically be set, or at least settable for surround use (panning) as should the audio busses. Try this and see if it works
