Surround panner not working....

bruceo wrote on 6/19/2005, 10:57 AM
In Vegas 5, when working in 5.1 mix as I set a keyframe on the timeline and changed the audio position in the soundfield it would work correctly.... Now I have V6 and when I set the keyframe and make the panning location change, it just chages the whole track's sound position. Looks like the keyframing is broken...?

can anyone test their 5.1 funcitonality for me? Just change the sudio properties to 5.1 and on an audio channel set one keyframe with the audio on the left and then pan the source to the left and set another keyframe and then see if the previous keyframe retains the original position. I did several 5.1 mixes before, but now no matter what I do the keyframes will not keep any settings......

Automation setting [track level] to 'write'

go to your audio track settings and make sure show automation controls are on and Automation write set to touch

this will automatically recentre ur pan when your done panning in realtime panning

there are heaps of ways to set up a panning config, this just works most efficiently without yo having to draw in wach key.. when u move the panner, these movements are recorded

apparently it works significantly different than previous versions. If I check show automation controls then it shows me in th panner where the current keyframe position setting is and allows me to change it.... I looked up automation in the help files and am reading on it right now.. Thx
