"Swap" channels in multi-channel mxf

Can anyone with access to XDCAM EX mxf files confirm that using the Swap toggle in the Channels menu produces distorted (unusable) audio? What happens is that the channels are reversed, but a constant cracking noise is added...

What is the reason? I tried my old HDV clips, and Swap works as expected, without any distortion added.

Yes mate,
struck this problem with multichannel audio files ages ago, any multichannel audio files have the same problem. Why it happens I don't know, I complained about this in the audio forum but no one seemed able to repo the problem. One way around the problem is to change the channel assignment, well that's how I got around the problem.
