SwishVideo 2

While d/l the demo of this program it asked if I wanted to install the LAME ACM mp3 codec. It said if you don't have an mp3 codec you should install it......

My question for those of you who use it:

Is that necessary since Vegas has an mp3 codec (can Swish use it)? I started to install it (the LAME mp3 codec) but it kicks up a warning window indicating the driver is not certified etc etc.....makes me nervous.

Checked the Swish Forum but they don't really mention much about this.

Hey boomer - Not being certified doesn't make me nervous unless the place is a little on the shady side. Lots of things aren't, I think it gets to be pretty costly sometimes for them to have to get them certified, so they just don't bother with it.

Hey Keith,
I use SWiSHVideo2 and have installed the LAME codec. Also have Vegas 6.0c on this system and I don't think there's a conflict. It's a really good encoder.
Cheers,
Tom

Anyone with experience with the Swish2 encoder? I can't get a clean encoding from it....always blocky video and I've increased the bit rates several times(which I don't think should be required). I knew when I purchased that I was taking a chance because of the mediocre encodes on the swish site, but for $20 I gave it a shot. Any suggestions?

I can't complain. Email me and I'll send yhou a sample I encoded from an already compressed WMV (Windows Media 9) file. It's about 10MB, so I hope I can send and it doesn't blow either of our mailboxes.
