Synchronization With a CVS Pharmacy DVD

You have probably seen those one time use video cameras available at CVS Pharmacy stores.

Someone sent me a DVD recorded with one and I loaded a video segment into Sony Vegas Movie Studio +DV (Version 6).

The video played fine when it first started. As it progressed, the audio began to get out of synch with the video. It became worse and worse until finally it ended up looking like one of those early dubbed Japanese-to-English movies.

What's the solution to this problem?

One very easy fix is to stretch/squish the audio to match the video. Select the audio track, press U to ungroup. Move your cursor to the end of the audio event, hold down the Ctrl key, and stretch it to the right if it's too fast or squish it to the left if it's too slow. With a little bit of practice and fudging you should be able to get them to line up exactly.
