Well the Post-Standard in Syracuse picked up on the whole thing and ran a story. Problem is they never talked to me and they are one of the sponsors of the festival, so the story is a bit one sided and misleading. My one email to the Fest Coordinator asking that all 3 of the same named films who were told they got accepted be screened became a "handful of e-mails" to them that demanded only my film be screened. Than the article says that my film was only one of "about half a dozen" that were part of a "clerical error". Last time I checked a dozen would be 12 so half a dozen would be 6 - 'about' 6 would be what? 4? 5? If you count myself and the other film maker who made a same named film you would have 1/2 of the 'about half a dozen' so that would leave 3 at the most. ..I assure everyone reading this that I have heard from well over 3 people, not including myself *or* the other person who made the same named film. A few other 'fun' things of note is the fact that I was told my film did not make it because an animated film did...but this article says that my film and the animated film did not make it. Must be another one of those 'clerical errors'.

Anyhow if anyone wants to read it - 'The Box' subject of controversy for film fest

I read the article that talked about 500 entries. How many films are in the final program? Seems to me that's more relevant to their error rate on acceptance notices than the total number of entries.

I read that article. You would think that they could be more exact then "about 1/2 a dozen." They also say that they have over 500 entries, and this this frequently happenes to festivels that have over 500 entries. So how much more then 500 did they have? 501????

This sounds like the same excuse a bad employe would have as an answer when they screwed something up: "Well, I didn't make about half a dozen of the burgers we needed.. Well, there were about 500 buns. Sometimes when there is lots of buns I forget to to make them all. Why didn't I tell you I forgot to make the burgers? well, there was a lot and I had to move all the burgers to the hall for the wedding, I didn't have time to tell youthere wouldn't be enough."

And this is a college professor! (but when you know so much you're alowed to make big mistakes. :) )

Ha!! Burgers would be a great wedding food.

That was extremely funny!
