System Crash when using Adv Vid Cap or Print to Tape - Help!

Hi All! Just got into DV recently and am trying the VV3.0 demo to see how it stacks up - it is awesome! But I am having a problem that I hope you can help out with. Here is my setup -

Win XP Pro
AMD Athlon XP 1700
512 MB DDR 2700 Ram
OrangeLink Firewire connection (OHCI Compliant)
Sony DCR-TRV11
(Let me know if you need more!)

Basically I can use VV totally fine, no problems at all. But when I go to Video Capture, that is where the problems come. I can use the camera (Play, FF, Rewind etc.) just fine and I can capture video perfectly. But when I click on either the "Advance Capture" or "Print to Tape" tab my computer totally freaks out. Vid Capture crashes but the window always remains open. I cannot end it with Ctrl-Alt-Del no matter how many times I end task on the app or on the process and I have to reboot my computer to get it to go away.

Why would this be happening? Any advise would be awesome!

Thank you -

Zurg

You can try: Disabling DV device control in Vidcap prefernces.

What graphics(AGP) card are you using? There's been some driver issues....They've been lowering hardware acceleration with some success, it may not apply here.
Other Video programs installed? Did you get a CD with that Firewire card?
XP Device Manager: What's listed under IEEE Bus host Ctrlrs?

No error messages? Just locks up?

Thank you for the reply!

I am not at home right now so I will tell you what I can w/o being at my computer:

I am using an ATI Radeon 64MB VIVO
No other video editing programs installed.
Yes there is a CD that came w/ my firewire card but I am using the latest drivers from the net.
I know the IEEE Bus Host is listes as something like "NEC OHCI Complient IEEE etc."

No error messages, the window for the vid editor locks up and cannot be closed, remains open on the screen.
