I have just installed Windows Mellennium and Video Factory 2, I am getting messages saying that the following files couldnt be found: MSPQM.sys, USBNTMAP.sys.

Also when i connect my camera using my Billionton Firewire card i get the message saying that 61883.sys couldnt be found.

Under Device manager there is 3 different devices listed for my camera using the Firewire card: 1394 Bus Controller, 61883 Device, AVC Device.

I have installed Windows Me 3 times and i am still getting these errors.

thanks for any help

Hmmmmm.... You just installed WinME? Does this mean you had WinME previously - ie for the last 2 years - and you have had to re-install it? If this is the case, why have you had to reinstall it? Under what circumstances did the system fail? This might give others a clue.... If you are installing WinME fresh - why haven't
you elected to buy Win2000 or even WinXP?

Do you have the lastest DirectX? Is your ASPI set in order?

I see from this Forum you had a Print to Tape issue. Was what was suggested a help? Did it cure the problem? In that post you say you have VF2.0c. Here you say you have VF2.0. Is your Video Factory version 2.0 or 2.0c (build 125). There is a difference - I know this because it gave me an MPEG1 problem. Do you have a downloaded VF demo or do you have VF 2.0c (build 125) Updater or do you have a fully registered copy of VF 2.0c build 125?

Oh yes - Sorry didn't ask you the obvious question! Have you ever had the system working as it should have been?

I am sure there will be others on this Forum who will try to help you. - I'm just too full of questions.

I done a fresh install of Windows Mellennium, i used to have Windows 98 SE (it didnt capture of print to tape properly either).

I have the latest Direct X 8.1 installed

As for my ASPI i dont know what that is ?

I have a full version of Video Factory 2 but i upgraded to VF 2.0c Build 125

I didnt resolve my print to tape and capture problem, i basically can get about 2-3 seconds of good footage (rarely) and i can capture sometimes, if i restart my computer it seems to help (sometimes).

I am running out of options on what to do here .....

thanks for your reply Grazie

Okey dokey...

In my opinion there seems to be something very odd going on with your setup. Generally do you have any problems with other S/w packages? Do you have MS Word or PowerPoint? Do they function well? Have you an antivirus package? Norton or McAfee? Are you aware that you may have had a virus attack? As you can see they could be many items going wrong with your set-up.

You say you weren't able to resolve the issues with the Print-To-Tape in VF. I've been using pcs for over 15 years now, I'm not a techie nor do I appreciate the finer details of pc activity. However, I am aware that others do and I have had to rely on a lot of support and assitance from forums - like this excellent one - and the feedback from technical support departments. You could wait to see if someone replies to this thread and/or start your own education on the, somtimes arduous task, of understanding a little bit more of what is going on under the keyboard.

You say you don't understand the question on ASPI - when I started this NLE work I didn't either. Soooooo..... put a new post/thread up here asking for clarifacation on this "What is ASPI?". For my part, I understand that it is that I need ASPI drivers to make multimedia activity work correctly. You/I/we need a "complete" set of these drivers, and of the same date, to make multimedia activity comply and operate correctly. As we all have had to do, you need to "bone-up" a little more on the technical side of things. Ask more questions. Yes I know it is the case of [my quotes - not yours!] "How do I know what questions to ask if I don't know the questions to ask in the first place!"

All I can say is that with more investigations on your part, and further requests made to this and maybe other fora, you will be best placed to service your problems in the future. It has been and is the same for me. I know what I have said does little to assist you in solving your present position, but hang on in there because the rewards from achieving something from this superb DV editing package - VF - are quite remarkable.

Best regards, I/we have all been here before.

Hi
Did you get these errors after a clean install of ME, before you added all of your applications, and hardware ie scanners, modems, cameras ect. this is importent because it will pinpoint if the problem is from an application or hardware drivers.
I have found the files you need, post your e-mail address and I will send them to you.
USBNTMAP is a file needed for a USB device, scanner, camera for example. MSPQM is a DLL file, which is a DirectX component.
