Tech support : 'VF can't handle long MPEG streams' so...

I contacted the VF tech support as I had problems with long (2 hours) MPEG2 streams. VF did'nt render them properly (audio out of sync, frames freezed). The tech support recognized that VF can have problems with long streams and suggested me to convert the stream to AVI before processing it in VF.
Now, I tried to edit an AVI (Divx) stream but VF seems can't handle it as I see only black frames. Do I need some plug-ins? Or it is not possible at all? Does anyone knows about a MPEG2 to plain AVI converter (and not MPEG4 AVI)?
Thank you

VF's support for DivX seems to be patchy, though I've had no problems so far. Have a look at FlaskMPEG for a freeware MPEG to AVI converter.

I have had the same issues. It does not show a matched steam in mpeg2 w/ video. I think VF should address this as well, it is lame to pass it off to flask or anything else. It should be a priority being more and more clips and movies are found in mpeg4. mpeg 4 is handled a little better in ULEAD, but still falls out of sync. the_ripper
