Temp Files not going where I tell them to!!

I am having a little problem here with Vegas 4 not putting the temp pre-rendered files where I tell it to. My system has a 30GB drive and a 80GB drive. Currently the files are set to the default so it is storing them on the C drive. Whenever I try to switch it to store them on the other drive it is still putting them on the C drive! I have a 3 hour program I am trying to render out and the C drive is full so I am stuck untill I can get the temp files to go to the other drive. Anyone else having this problem, or do you know how to fix it?? Running Vegas 4.0c

Check out your Project Prefs. Make sure you've got the Pre-Render directory set up AND check the Make All New Projects start the same way. Close V4 and restart. Your Pre-render directory should be where you stated. MAKE sure you also check the New Projects check box each time you start a new project. I've found that if I don't it reverts to the default C: drive - yeah?

Oh yes . . I believe Temp directory and Pre-render directory are different. Clear this up first.

I'm assuming this won't work if you have already edited the video and have half of the pre-rendered files already make. Meaning you can't switch this preference and still have vegas be able to access the already rendered portion of the file.

-Never mind, I just figured out how to switch it mid-project and now it has to render for another 12 hours.

Sofo - Maybe in the next update you could add the option to have multiple folders that you can designate as your pre-render storage folders on diffrent drives. Just a thought :)

WHy can't you copy or move the files you've pre-rendered to a new directory you create? Then tell V4 where the new directory is. Surely this is possible - no?

Too late, I already deleted them, but maybe I'll experiment with it once I get this video rendered and printed to tape.

Because I only had about 15MB of space left on my C: drive and I thought that might cause some problems and slow downs in my system. I have to let this video render overnight and I don't want any more suprises when I come in tomorrow like I had today (out of HD space). Now I have about 40GB of space set aside for pre-rendered files which should be enough. The client doesn't need the video till Monday so I have enough time to re-render it.
