Don't know how many drives / partitions you have available, but I have a separate partition dedicated to my swap file and working Temp folders from Vegas, Sound Forge, and other applications. It makes some sense because the prerender and undo files can take up a lot of space and it's easy to look there for a temp or backup file in case of a crash, etc.

Thanks for that.

The partition you are mentioning, is that on the same physical drive as windows / program files?

Thanks.

In this case, it is not. I have two identical 80GB drives on the primary IDE (I know . . .). The Windows and Program Files are on the Primary C Drive and the Swap and active Temp folders are on a 30GB partition (E:) on the slave Drive. The other partition (D:) is for some older stuff that I rarely use. Don't know how much space you would need but I'm sure you could get by with far less.

I capture and render on two other internal 250GB drives, non-raid.
