Template: NTSC DV (720x480, 29.970 fps) Problem!

Hi,

I'm having a big problem with Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11. I'm using the NTSC DV (720x480, 29.970 fps) template and DV which seems to be 4:3 format.

I had completed my project using Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 10, but since I had just gotten the new version (11) I installed and saved my finished project as version 11.

Well, for some bizarre reason, Version 11 has black area (letterbox) all around the video which Version 10 did not have (only on the sides as you would expect). Everything was fine in Version 10 but now I can not get rid of the black areas in the top or bottom of the video.

I've checked and double checked the settings and everything in the project properties is the same in both versions.

In fact if I start a new project in version 11 as soon as I drop my video I get the letter box all around where as in version 10 is fills the screen top to bottom leaving only black area on the sides.

I wouldn't be posting this if i hadn't overwritten my 10 project as a version 11 and now I have to figure out how to fix it.

Any feed back or help would be really appreciated!

Thanks

Use "Match Media Settings" to set the project properties the same as your media. Then save that as your starting preset. (The default template in all versions of Vegas is Widescreen, not 4:3).

Hi.

Thanks for the reply! Matching media settings fix the problem by 99% the only issue left is that there is still a very small black area under the video. In Vegas 10 the video fills the screen from top to bottom.

However, I want to hand in this project so it will have to do for now. I wonder if there is some other setting I can use to stretch it just a few pixels on the bottom.

Thanks for your help!

If you have matched media properties, I don't know where a black line would come from.

However, checking the "Stretch video to fill output" checkbox in the render settings should take care of it.
