I'm guessing the question is what could be done to make this function snappier? Actually, I've noticed lately that my Vegas Pro 17 is doing the same thing, when it worked perfectly before. I suspect a Windows update must have changed something.

Yes, I suspect that a software update of some kind has made a change. Even removing the program and reinstalling it does nothing. Other differences in Vegas Pro 18 is that it takes much longer to load a project even when using a solid state drive. And not just entering text within the title block text editor is slow, but anywhere inside the program where text has to be entered. I have two image files for backup and I'm considering using one of them to restore the computer to a previous state.
