Text Generator: saving preferences?

ralford wrote on 8/30/2003, 1:34 PM
It would seem that the properties of a Generated Text title (text/background color, shadow, font etc) could be set to a user preference or saved and then applied to the next set of "words" to create a consistent format.

I have been able name/save a title, however, when I recall that name it overwrites the text.

Hopefully, I simply have my head in the sand - can anyone point me to the proper method, or terminology for finding help?

Thanks,

rma

You are not doing anything wrong. Unfortunately, this is working as designed. The actual text is saved with the preference and will overwrite your text without warning. This is great for storing standard texts like Happy Birthday or Wedding Day, but is less than useful for just saving attributes.

What I do is add the first text to my project using the saved preference and change the text. Then I use Copy and Paste Attributes on my remaining titles. This will not paste the text just the attributes (as the name implies). That’s about as good as it gets.

thanks - that was the process I had used, but I thought it was too barbaric....

Guess we'll just have to "Conan" it.
