Text Gradients in Home HD 10

I have been searching hi and low for how to make text in my video with a gradient effect. All I can find is that Vegas 10 can do it but
Home HD 10 can't. Do I have to upgrade to Vegas or is there a way
to create Gradient Text that I am missing?

When you say a gradient effect, do you mean text that begins at the top, say, as one color and then becomes another color toward the bottom?

And you are talking about coloring the text, right? Not the background.

Do you want the color transition for each *line* of text .. or for all the text on the screen?

For all the text .. use TRANSPARENT text and put a color gradient UNDER it (on the lower track)
