Hey guys, I have recently got Sony Vegas 10.0 Platinum. Iv worked out everything but the text....

When i put on text, I move it to the very bottom of the little thing where you place the text, but when I "render" it it comes out about 1/4 the way up the screen? I want it at the very bottom of the clip as a Watermark thing.

This is what i mean! It looks like this!

When you say "the little thing where you place the text"do you mean under the Text Placement tab on the Generated Media window? (It helps to know exactly what we're dealing with and what you're doing, Sarah.)

You can always re-position the text manually by using the Crop/Pan tool to further position it lower in the video frame.

A word of warning though: If you plan to show this video on anything but a computer, you don't want to place the text that low! All TVs have something called overscan -- which means that they cut a bit off the sides of your video frame. You could lose as much as 10% of your video frame to overscan!

The Safe Area overlays on the Preview window make good guides for placing text. You should NEVER place text outside the Text Safe Area guide unless you want to risk it not showing completely on your TV!

"... the little thing where you place the text .." I' m assuming that is the EDIT window on the text creation box. To move whatever text you create to where ever in the frame you want .. click on the PLACEMENT tab .. then slide your text to where ever you want ... even off the frame.

Hint: if you want to make this more like a watermark ... change to opacity from the default 100% to something like 25% That is done for the whole track, not the in text creation tool.

Yes I mean the text placement tab Generated Media window. okay so what I do is write the text and put it to the very bottom of the placement square, And when iv finished editing I render it into "Quick Time" and when it finished I play it... But it comes out like the screen shot link above. Its for youtube :)

As i said i want it for a watermark, People have a habbit of stealing my Youtobe videos....

Yes .. there are TABs in that window. The default is the EDIT tab, but once you enter your text go to the PLACEMENT (or POSITITON) tab. I'm not running Vegas right now so I'm not sure what the name is, but it is the tab to the right of the EDIT tab. and you can put your text *anywhere* you want by grabbing and sliding it with your mouse.

If you are only putting one word, or one line of text you don't have to add linefeeds to position your text. Just use the placement tab control.
