Text location changes won't Stick

Using the Media Generator I've place one Text media event, with transparent background, trimmed to 4 seconds each, on 9 separate tracks. The events are faded on each end for 1.12 seconds. The objective is for the text to fade in and then out. The events are then staggered like stairs. each lower (next track down) event offset to start as the fade-in stops. Each track's composite level is set for 50%. I then edit the text location so that the text appears at one of the 9 choices: right center, center, left center, top left, top center, etc. The problem: The changes to the location do not take. I've changed the settings 4 times now and they won't stay changed. Any clue as what I'm doing wrong? This is first time that I've had trouble with Vegas that I can't figure what I'm doing wrong.

By any chance did you create events 2 through 9 by copying event 1? And if so, did you choose the "create a reference" option? If you did this, then any changes you make to one of them is actually changing all of them since they're really just one single event.

If not the above, then:

Betcha the keyframes were automatically made. Sometimes it does it to me even when I don't have the auto-create-at-that-point feature turned on.

Does the text move when you play it? Or is it just in the wrong place all the time?

First, let me apologize to eveyone who responded to my inquiry. I got called away and am just returning. If I copied the media then any text position change to the subsequent clone interfered with the text position in the media that was copied. When pasting the new copy I always selected to make it a new copy, instead of a referenced copy. I never figured out why it was doing this, however the solution was simply not to copy the media, just create it anew each time from the media generator. Maybe the connection between making a new copy or a reference copy was never completely separated in the software. But, thanks again for trying to help. By the way, I will be shooting my first three camera wedding in a few weeks. And I thought two would be headache enough.
