text over video using swishMAX...

anyone have any ideas as to how i can achieve text over video...
i tried chroma keying it out... left a gross edge around the text...
under the compositing modes... multiply (mask) worked the best... worked great.. the only problem is.. when the text avi file is done playing, the clips underneath it go black...

is there a way around this...

im dong a music video.. and i want the info in the bottom left corner when the song starts and stops...

All you need is to make sure your scene has an ALPHA set to 0, which will make the backgroud transparent. That's what I do. I start a new scene, click on the SCENE tab in properties, make sure ALPHA is on 0, add my text and anything else, export to SWF and than all I need to do is bring that file into Vegas.

SwishMax is a great little program (and CHEAP) for titling and special effects. I only wish it were easier to do text outlines, drop shadows, beveling, etc. , but hey...for the price ya can't beat it!

Yea - I agree. Would be nice to have an easy way of doing drop shadows and outlines. The more I play with that program the more I like working with it. Good program for the money for sure!
