Text problems

I'm having a problem using scrolling text in Vegas Pro 9.0d. I'm using the standard media generator that comes with Vegas, namely a vertical Credit Roll. When a DVD is created from the MPG in Vegas the moving text flickers and flashes from dots to solid as it moves. Reguar text looks perfect but if it moves this happens. I even created a text crawl at the bottom of a video and it exhibits the same problem. The background video or static image makes no difference, and my credit roll is over a black screen. It seems like in my older DVD’s this wasn’t happening so I don’t know what I’m doing wrong now. Reduce Interlace Flicker is turned on and I have tried it without it being on. No change. Anyone with some suggestions; I would be very grateful for some help.

Ttry doubling the resolution of your text events. If they are 720x480 change them to 1440x960. I figure you already know about not choosong serif or fine fonts and highly contrasting colors. Also try adding an outline to your text, even if its the same color as the text.

I need to scroll 200 people names in the credit roll section in 5 minutes. What is the quick and easy way to achieve this in Vegas. I tried the track motion. It works if I have like 10 names. not for 200+ names. Any suggestions

Use a regular text event and type a long column of names. Use the Placement tab and start with the top of the text below the frame. Add a keyframe at the end and move the bottom of the text up above the top of the frame. You then set the speed you want by the length of the event.

I tried that. The problem is the text is repeating instead of keep flowing.

At the top of the text entry window is a field for duration. Set this to the length you want for the event. If you don't then it doesn't matter how far out your drag the event on the timeline; it will keep repeating at that duration.

Thank you so much Chien. I never noticed the time line box on top. One another question. How do I adjust the speed?.

The longer you make the time duration, the slower the speed.
