text/titles for video interviews

Hello,

Newbie question for showing titles during a video interview. I'm familiar with inserting text, but I want that classic look of a transparent rectangle border around the person's name, and I also want to be able to have a company logo maybe within the same batch of text, or possibly elsewhere on the screen. I do have an example of what I'm trying to achieve, but I don't seem to have the authority to attach a picture here. I do have a Dropbox account. I have watched many-a tutorial video, but so far they are all just adding normal text that's available in Media Generators. Please help

Do have Photoshop or something similar? Vegas does not have great text tools. You might also want to take a look at New Blues Titler. An older version was included with some versions of Vegas.

You are looking for "lower thirds." Here's a Google search that may help:

search the forum for lower thirds - they can be found everywhere, and you can even make your own

In its most basic form you need your text generated in Vegas and a logo which can be a transparent .png. You can scale and put these anywhere on the screen using Pan/Crop and/or Track Motion.

A simple example.

The project that generated this nonsense is here so you can see how it was done.

Thanks everyone! I do have Photoshop. This Lower Thirds effect is what I was looking for. Thanks for giving me a boost in the right direction. I didn't realize I could use a transparent .png for my custom logo.
