Hello everyone,

version: vegas pro 22.0

i am trying to create a video with the ai text to speech feature, and i've noticed that even with smaller sentence its forcing me to use all my characters every time. usually i am able to do a free preview then add onto timeline, now, after i do the free preview, instead of add onto timeline showing up, its forcing me to use the limited characters then the add onto timeline button appears. is this part of the new update? please help thank you.

What you have described is the process since text-to-speech became available to all Vegas Pro versions, not just Vegas Pro subscriptions as used to be the case. The character allowance that comes with perpetual licences depends on the which version of Vegas Pro that was purchased. Using the short preview function doesn't use that allowance as far as I am aware, but once the Generate button is used, the character allowance is reduced. The reason: MAGIX has to pay the 3rd party supplier (Microsoft I believe) for text-to-speech usage. Usgae limits are:

Once the character allowance has been depleted, perpetual licence refills are available for a cost:

I wondered what happened. The character limit on preview really limits the feature for me. Way too low to really fine tune inflection and timing.

@monoparadox I understand your concern, I wasted quite a few characters trying to rectify text spelling errors or speech improvements. But having the complete text being spoken to you without charging characters, that is commercially not viable as you can always capture live sound in your PC without paying.

What they really should be doing is providing the complete text in free preview with some sort of annoying noise added to it so it becomes unusable, but still useful for tuning or correcting mistakes.

Infliction and timing, I which it was available for the Flemish Dutch variant. Only one female (sort of OK) and one male (lacks a bit of testosteron if you know what I mean) voice is a bit lacking too for Flemish Dutch.
