THANK YOU Sony for listening to loyal Vegas users and maintaining an exellent upgrade pricing structure! This issue was debated, and you gave us the lowest of all proposed alternatives.

Also, thanks for the proactive support your already issued today on this forum.

Ditto to that. I have never seen so much direct Sony support in this forrum. They also have been very quick in responding to e-mail requests.

I concur.

Thanks, Sony!

As one of the people who were concerned that the Vegas 5+DVD upgrade may cost too much because Sony is raising the prices to attract a higher level clientele, and adding lots of additional function to DVDA, I want to add my voice and say:

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU

If I understand the upgrade pricing correctly, I can upgrade my copy of Vegas 4+DVD to Vegas 5+DVD for only $199 for a limited time. That is OUTSTANDING considering the Vegas 5 upgrade is $149 alone (which is the same price we paid for the Vegas 4 upgrade over a year ago). You really have rewarded those of us who purchased the first release if DVDA by offering the upgrade for only $50. I see the spirit of Sonic Foundry is alive and well in your new Sony team and I commend you for it. (did I remember to say thanks? ...oh yea) Thanks! ;-)

I just wanted to jump in here with the rest and say I'm almost overjoyed also that the upgrade priceing is not at a level that would break the bank. I never cease to be impressed.

Thank you.

Just to join the chorus of thankyou for a great upgrade price! I am quite surprised at the $199 price for the prod suite upgrade , as I seem to remember paying $299 for the upgrade to V4+DVDA well over a year ago...but of course that was including getting a brand new product at the time...ie DVDA.

Other companies could take a leaf out of the Sony upgrade generosity book...such as Adobe and Alias. For example Maya 6 is just out and they are wanting almost half ($899) of the full price($1999) just to upgrade...jeez...thankfully I get that one at a student price :)

It seems like I am one of many who has not received an email from Sony. makes me wonder if many of us are actually still on their list, since I don't recall getting a single one since the takeover from Sofo?

Kudos to Sony....I am buying the uprgade right after I type this!
