At a time of year when we tend to be reflective and thankful, I'd like to thank the people here on the Pro forum that take the time to visit the Vegas Movie Studio forum and help out where they can.
I know there are many here that help out there from time to time, but in particular Kelly (Chienworks) and Musicvid make frequent posts on the VMS forums. Kelly has been a steady presence there since I started with VMS in 2005, and lately Musicvid has been spending a lot of his time there as well. Ed Troxel (jetdv) also drops by from time to time.
It's easy to forget that we were all beginners once, and didn't know what an "event" was, or what rendering meant, or have any clue what MPEG2 was. Things that seem so obvious and natural to experienced users are not so obvious to novices ("How do I put text on the screen on top of my movie? I just get a black background" "How can I cut out parts of my video that I don't want?" "So the greenscreen background has to go on a track *below* my video?" etc.)
So again, my sincere thanks to those of you that take time out of your day to stop in at the "kiddie pool" and help teach the beginners how to swim. You patience and generosity are surely appreciated, as they were when I was a beginner there.
