The activation code is incorrect

I bought Movie Studio Platinum earlier this year and it was fine. Now I formatted my PC, installed the program again and everything seemed to be correct, the program says it was activated correctly, it is on the website as active, the program opens, but when I try to import a video into the program it just says "the activation code is incorrect". Tried to reinstall, tried to deactivate and activate again, but nothing works.

From your post on the Magix Community forum you have Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 17 Build 223.

VMS is trying to unlock a codec, a one time operation for some file types. But something isn't matching - computer ID, email address for registration and activation code are all involved. Possibly the computer ID is amiss as you reformatted?

Try:

  1. Uninstalling, then reinstalling
  2. But when restarting use a "Factory reset". Instructions here https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-how-can-i-reset-vegas-pro-to-default-settings--104646/ Make sure you tick the box to clear the cache. This is not cleared when you reinstall. A "Factory reset" is necessary
  3. When restarting VMS and you are required to activate with serial number do not insert your computer ID unless it has not been inserted automatically. If necessary to insert your pc ID it is usually the "Device Name" found in Widows Settings/About/Device Specifications.

Tried, still the same error. Both email, serial number and machine Id matches.

Something's screwed up somewhere. Best lodge a ticket with Vegas Support https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/support/

Being the holiday period you may not get a prompt reply. Meantime search the forum for "activation code is incorrect". There are many posts and you might find something in one of them that helps you.
