The activation of HEVC codec failed

For 2 weeks now I have not been able to work with the legally purchased Vegas 21 pro. I cannot load the movie (open project_ because I constantly get this message ‘The activation of HEVC codec failed’. I have reinstalled 2 times. And still the same. What should I do? Tomasz

Thank You - I tryed. I did ask VEGAS, no any answer. In a few minutes I checked followe Your suggestion. Does not wkr, the same message and plus "File C:\Users\Tomek\Desktop\100GOPRO\GX010015.MP4 could not be opened.", but some other files I can be open.

If VEGAS is connecting online there might be a write permissions issue. One workaround is to create a new Windows admin account and install it using that.

Windows permission problem perhaps? Try moving or copying the file to somewhere outside of your User folders and see if that makes a difference.
