Why not juse synce up the audio from both? That's the easiest (and fastest) way. You should just double check (by playing it) that it is synched. It could be a fraction of a second off due to timming difference.

well, why not just drop all video clips in timeline, mix all the sound from MD and render them with video as a big avi file. this way you will not lose synchronzation and because most likely you will make the video in chronical order so put a big video file in the timeline and split split split.... add transition, add transition, add transition..... shouldn't be too difficult.

I can only give you my limited knowledge, but here goes. It really depends on your material. Supposedly you have about 15 min on sync (after you get things aligned the first time by sight or what not) before the sync on minidv and minidisk starts to get noticable. This varies, but generally you have 15min so so I understand.
So if you have one long piece w/o breaks and it's under 15 min then just line it up by eye and you're good to go. A good place to do a search on the matter is dv.com's audio forum. This subject has been discussed there several times.
Hope that helps.

Basically, you have to ensure that the audio for each sound from the MD lines up with the audio recorded with video.

The sharper the sound used for synching the easier, but you can zoom in and line up anything.

If you are initially in synch, but maybe out an hour later, there are various tools in Vegas - Split, stretch (Ctrl drag edge), to keep things lined up.

This may be too obvious, but I ususally put both tracks on the time line, open one in the trimmer and place a marker at an obvious consonant sound, then open the other and do the same. Then I make the markers match on the timeline.
