The Light Blue Arrow and Marker

Hey guys.

I'm completely new to the Vegas Movie Studio (V.M.S), it works simular to the "Cyberlink" power director, but VMS is far better than that. Anyways, I've pretty much figured out how to use the program nice and easy from previous experience on other Movie editing programs.

However, there's one little problem that's REALLY annoying me and I can't find the option to change or remove it. At the moment I'm working on a decrypted File. The file is a " .VOB " I have no idea what file type that is. But it is supposedly a good quality file. Anyways that doesn't matter. Placing it in V.M.S is not an issue. It loads it, then finds the Audio peaks and done. All good.

If you look in this picture in this link. You'll see a RED circle and an Orange circle and i'll explain my problem with both of them.

Orange: That Light blue line changes when I try to extend the File.
Red: The red is the marker where the movie is stopped and the file itself is repeated.

Can any of you tell me how to get rid of this Blue line and Marker so the WHOLE file loads instead of 80% of it?

Feel free to ask any questions if you don't understand. I will bow down at your feet if you can give me an answer of how to get rid of them.

A "VOB" file is an MPEG2 file ripped from a DVD.

The "light blue" line changes based on what you have last done. If you then do a "Post Ripple Edit", it shows how much the the effected events will be moved. Do a search fir Ripple Edit and Post Ripple Edit in the help file.

The "marker" is the END OF THE FILE. Once you go past that, Vegas will either repeat the clip (what you are seeing) or repeat the last frame forever. It depends on whether you have Vegas set to Loop or not.

VOB files are limited to 1 Gig on a DVD. Apparently you were give one VOB file but there are other VOB files needed that contain the rest of the video.

If you can get the original DVD, the BEST way to import it is to go to File - Import - DVD Camcorder Disc.

Thankyou so much. I'll have a look at the "Post Ripple Edit"

But for the "marker", where is the option/setting for that specific loop? Can you actually get rid of it or is it stuck there? o.O

That marker *IS* the end of the clip. There is no more video in that clip. If there is supposed to be more video following that point, it will be in the NEXT VOB file on that disc. There is nothing else in that VOB file to show.

As I said, if you can get the original disc, do a File - Import - DVD Camcorder Disc and then point it to that DVD. That will import the entire disc, not just that one file.
