I have been using Photoshop since it was version 4 and am quite comfortable with it. I didn't know you could produce a LUT in it. I've never been able to get the look I want until now. For me this is well worth $100 of the upgrade and throw in the very fast preview and render increases, I am pretty happy with the upgrade.
Back to LUT FX. With the ability to match my stills and videos now a certain type of long term project am doing has become significantly easier. I've used so many cameras (not pretty much only Panasonic) and lenses that getting the same "look" was somewhat difficult. Doing many different types of subjects has always been a issue with color balance and the color variation between cameras and lens (have lots of clips that were taken at different times, different tool combinations) that I wish to match.
In Photoshop you can produce:
Select one or more of the available formats in which you want to export the color lookup table:
3DL
CUBE
CSP
ICC Profile
I master in Panasonic 4K and final product is 1080P 3o fps @ 24 mbs.
The more I can standardize in post with my current mix of footage and equipment the easier I can produce the looks I want, and that for me is a big deal given my investment in the imaging gear I use.
Thanks.
