The "Media Offline" Problem

I've run into this now, after thinking I finally solved it. I downloaded a codec pack so it would work. But then I updated the pack and now the problem came back, I tried uninstalling the pack, uninstalling it and going back to the previous pack I was using but neither worked. Does anybody have a solution to this?

I don't know what the "media offline" notice has to do with codec packs- I always thought it had to do with when you remove Vegas from the focus (click on a different window or when you have your hard drive off that contains the media). Maybe I missed what you are saying.

A solution? Go back to a restore point that was prior to when you installed the codec pack.

There's an option you can set in "Preferences" - "Close media files when not the active application". When Vegas loses focus, it's not the active application.

Not sure what is the default, but see if it's checked. If it is, uncheck it and try it again.
