The most CPU/Vegas friendly HD codec for editing

I have about 18 hours of HDV (.m2t) I need to rough cut down to a couple of hours and then delete the original footage. What is the lossless codec I should use to render the cuts?
Delivery will eventually be BluRay, DVD and web.
Thanks very much,
Randy

If it is lossless, it doesn't matter much. It is a tradeoff between coding speed and file size. Try Lagarith - its free.

Once i installed the GoPro Studio software, where do i see the option to render out CineForm with its options in Vegas 10? (64bit)
The only cineform i can see is listed under QuickTime as Cineform HD, but there are no custom options available, just this one.

It's an AVI Custom Video Format. It is not a Template.

Choose AVI as your type, click the Custom Tab, then the Video Tab. You will find all of your AVI codecs there.

Changed it to: Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.40Ghz

But isn't 2.40 Ghz x 4 layers = 9,6 Ghz ?

Yes that would be great, I am loking forward to the upgrade.
I have thought about a secondary OS install to already switch between XP 32 and W7 64 bit. And compare them. Not sure if it's handy though.

Maybe for gamers since they like big numbers, but not in the real world.

Is a Ferrari faster than a VW?

Windows 7 is so far advanced over XP that you will wonder why you waited.
