i wish them luck.....

i can't see many institutions allowing the installation of a 3rd party player on their systems, nor can i see any of my clients installing another player either.,

If TV manufacturers incorporate the player into their HDTVs it could have legs.

They tout it as the successor to DVD and BD. They are certainly not modest.

Is there anything else like this? Do people actually care about menus and chapters when they download films as it's already possible to embed subtitles and alternative soundtracks? Wouldn't it be easier to just render a mixed media presentation as a film and distribute it that way? In the age to the internet and electronic distribution I'm not sure I see the benefits.

The one thing I like about renting commercial films from the internet is that I don't have to sit through all that advertising rubbish and copy protection nonsense before the main feature on DVD rental films.

This sounds like it could be used commercially to force us back to those bad old days. The main feature is protected by a wall of advertising that must be endured before watching the film. If that is the case I hope this dies at birth.
