The Red Giant plugins ended its compatibility with Vegas.

Yeah, no surprise there. They have done this quite often over the many years they have been in business. One minute they drop support for Vegas, the next minute they start supporting it again, the next they offer support for a particular plugin, and later down the road support for it is dropped..... They have always been a fickle bunch. Don't be surprised if Vegas support is announced again for certain of their plugins before the year ends.

We are working with Maxon to try to re-engage with them on support. Between the numerous changes at Maxon/Red Giant and at Magix, communications between the two teams had lapsed. Hopefully we will be able to work closely with them again in the future.

Support for Vegas doesn't seem to have recovered.

@Fu-Ji Does not matter. The plugins industry doesn't revolve around Red Giant. Currently there are many better alternatives out there....... Vegas users are not missing out on anything.

Personally, I think Red Giant offers a significant toolset for Vegas. Use them daily. The only competitor is Boris. But I believe they (Boris / Red Giant) each have their strengths. The more Vegas plug-in developers, the better for Vegas users and Vegas eco system.

I still have an old version of MBLooks working with Vegas. But I also have Boris Continuum, which basically takes care of everything I need. I did have Knoll Light Factory, Cosmo, Mojo, Warp from ages ago in Pinnacle Studio.

I don't know about OFX plugins and how they work with different editing software.

Steve_Rhoden wrote on 12/15/2025, 9:13 PM

I personally don't use Magic Bullet Looks, Universe etc anymore, primarily for the fact that they are now under Maxon's bundled subscription roof.

EricLNZ wrote on 12/15/2025, 9:39 PM

OT but of interest. I have Magic Bullet QuickLooks which came years ago with VMS Platinum12 Suite. They appear, work and render in my VP23 trial!

Reyfox wrote on 12/16/2025, 4:38 AM

I can understand someone wanting their plugins to work with Vegas Pro. And while I would not invest in Maxon, having compatibility would be a "plus" for Vegas to show up on the Maxon compatibility page. It certainly can not hurt.

But @Roberto-Almeida, I do not have anything from them. You wrote (Google Translate):

Vegas Pro 22 readily accepts Magic Bullet Looks for saving in Filter Packages, but unfortunately Vegas Pro 23 saves them but has a bug where colors are not recognized, unlike its previous version vp22.

Can you post a screenshot of this along with detailed information about your computer specifications (and put them in your Signature like mine below), what video files you are using and what build of MBL you are using?
