Tom, I agree. The new "darker" skin is very sexy!

I have always opted for the boxed set. I think you are right each upgrade had a different serial number on a sticker.

Sorry to be a pest; are you talking about here: http://download.sonymediasoftware.com/current/ or here: http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/download/trials/vegaspro ?

I don't see a V9 trial in either place.

Well for those like me who can'tget the DL working ...
here is a link to the manual

The download that has proven to be a slight nuisance for some:

http://dspcdn.sonymediasoftware.com/current/vegaspro90_32bit.exe

Click the underlined link above (or possibly right-mouse and SaveAs if your browser permits)

I suspect Sony didn't intend to password protect this file unless they are encouraging the 64bit version to power users firstmost.

Sorry to be a pest...

I'm talking about the links in the very first post here.
It's not to a trial but, without a swerial number, I see no reason why it can't be treated as such.

Yes, interesting. I can download the 64 bit here because it requires no authentication, not I cannot download the 32 bit because it does.

Just to clarify, is it true that everyone else has not received a Sony Upgrade Order email Verification and that no one else sees Pro 9 Upgrade under "My Software" or an order for the Pro 9 Upgrade" under "My Orders"?

I'm currently rendering a 6 1/2 minute video to 1920x1080 25 Mbs MPEG2 on a Core i7 64 vit Vista machine. Render time is looking to be about 20 minutes. This a mix of high resolution jpegs, SD video and some text overlays. This video was giving me fits with 8.1 - many clips rendering black. It looks like that problem may be going away. Hope so. In any case all cores are running flat out and CPU usage is close to 100%. Memory is 3.6 of 6.0 GB available.

UPDATE: Sorry to report that black clips are still there post render. I suspect a corrupt .veg file. Back to work for me.

"Intelligent use of Previewing too . . "
yeah noticed that too...automaticly changes to try and keep frame rate up. but wonder if there is a way to bypass that if you needed or wanted to..

For all those who are downloading -

Are these trial versions?
I've placed a pre-order previously and like some others who've been posting - I haven't received an "offiicial" email yet nor is my account showing a withdrawl from SCS.
It would great if I could download here at my current location and install when I get home.
InterceptPoint wrote on 5/11/2009, 7:18 AM
I would download the Trial Version and worry about serial numbers etc. later.
RBartlett wrote on 5/11/2009, 7:21 AM
I don't think anyone has received their serial number yet. So the downloadable is relying on the (often confusing) ability for it to operate as a trial.

You can drop the key in at a later date. I don't know if you get full ingest/render access to MPEG/AVCHD/MP3/AC3 in this state. Possibly there are now some NDA beta testers posting that assume they can post now the 'demo' is in the wild.

I'd recommend you keep checking your email and 'My Account' here at the Sony Creative website. The orders will be being charged to the CCs now, presumably.

Wow super slow downloads, the forum is at a crawl. Bring on the masses. Still no charge to account or email. Feel like the gold rush with all of us wadeing around with hubcaps panning for gold flakes.

You're right RBartlett -
I was getting caught up in all of the hype. Hopefully it'll drop before 2pm EST today because the download speed at my current location is 15 times faster than my connection at home.

I downloaded the 64bit version, but something went wrong at the last phase of installation. Even though Vegas seems to be installed, it needs a new SN (won't launch as trial).

Anybody?

Just downloaded the 32 bit version. Took just a minute or two (FIOS line). Maybe the slowdown is on your end?

Anyone know if Magic Bullet Looks works in the 64 bit?
