Thinking about getting DVDA 2.0

Relative newbie here...

I LOVE Vegas 5! I do not have DVDA 1 or 2.

I have been authoring on a program called Power Producer. The DVD's come out good. The menus aren't really good.

I would like your opinions on DVDA 2.0, what it can do, and how you like it.

Thanks,
Jeff

PS. This forum is great! I love the good info here... and the posts by "Grazie" crack me up. I love the enthusiasm here.

Unless things have changed recently, you can't buy DVDA1 or 2 separately. You have to bu them bundled with Vegas.

Of course, you may be able to find them on eBay (at your own risk)

But if you have V5 - you <can> upgrade to V5 + DVDA2

Download the trial version and play with it to see if it does what you want.

DVDA 2.0 is good for fairly quick projects and you can also author some reasonably complex projects with it. However, it's still lacking a few features (such as delayed menu buttons, access to low-level DVD commands, etc.) that would take things to the next level.

I'd suggest also downloading a copy of DVD Lab or DVD Lab Pro (mediachance.com) for comparison. You'll find the interfaces quite different between the 2 (Lab will likely seem more complex initially, but gives you more control).

After using Sonic Reel DVD I didn't have to think too long about DVD-A
& DVD-A2. I have the $1000.00 Reel DVD in mothballs. If someone offered me 100 bucks It would be a done deal.
