I've tried many times to duplicate the following and it keeps coming up with the same results.

If DVDA is allowed to convert an MP3 file it always does so in a AC3 (stereo) only format. Even if the setting is said to do so in 5.1, it doesn't do it.

Shouldn't DVDA do what it's told? Why give the option if it just does it's own thing? It seems the only way to get 5.1 is to render files first in Vegas.

Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug???

I think you answered your own question. It needs to be rendered in Vegas as 5-1 format first. At least I would think so. Haven't tried myself yet. Otherwise how would it know what goes in what channel? If it just carves up the signal and outputs the same to all the channels what have you accomplished? Nothing. So I'm about 99% sure that's the reason.
