This seems simple, but I can't get it lol.

Hi. Obviusly, I'm a novice. Not even a novice really. I'm one of those people who can play anything, but doesn't understand anything technical abour the recording process. I understand enough to record and mix. This is a fairly simple question. When you have a track split into multiple fragments, how do you (is there a way to) make it think all these fragments (blank spots included) are all one event again, so that I can copy and paste them as one whole to a point further ahead in the project's timeline? (And no, I can't just use undo, because the track wasn't ever one cohesive event, it's massed together of multiple events form different file types, etc). How can i copy and paste them ALL, as a single event, into anywhere I choose? As it is, it will only copy single events, even when using the event selector to drag over multiple events. If I can't figure this out, I'm going to be spending way more time than I need to just to build, say, a drum track...or a background vocals track, etc. Thanks for any help. Sorry I'm so slow to learn this stuff. :)

In nearly any app besides vegas, you would use a " glue " or " splice" command. For us, you can choose menu tools---->render to new track.

Some warnings. Be sure to zero out tracks if you want them to be true copies, and I mean volume zero, no fx etc.
Also be sure to choose monpo or stereo files to render to depending on the source.

I just want to paste it all as one event ahead in the same track, at a later point in the project's timeline, not as a whole new track. I could just use duplicate track for that, if I wanted to just copy to a whole new track.

Use grouping. Select all segments you want with shift or CNTRL key while left clicking. Now hit "G" or right click one of the segments and choose "Group-Create New". Now they will all move together.
