Hi there! I've come over from the VF Forum looking for some "other" solutions. Saw your post and thought you might be interested in a similar discussion we've had over there.

I've used the ticker tape solution we explored there, in one of my clips.

Go to the VF forum and put a search in for ticker tape or something along those lines.

Regards

Grazie

Here's a couple of sample project files that demonstrate the "ticker tape" effect. They were created in VideoFactory, but they will open in Vegas as well. Right-mouse-button click on the following links to save the file to your local drive.

    http://www.chienworks.com/media/long_horizontal_text_scroll.vf
Uses the Placement feature in the text event to specify the starting and ending positions. This works well for very long text.

Uses Pan/Crop to specify the starting and ending positions. It may be a little easier than the Placement method, but it limits the length of the text message.

Hello, Chienworks:

I tried to go to your links about horizontal scrolls, but they appear as garbage. Is there something I need to do to retrieve them that I am forgetting?

Thanks

Right-click the link and choose "Save Target As". This will allow you to save the file to your hard drive where you can then open it in Vegas.

Oh, how obvious! Guess I should look harder before I leap.

Thanks.

Yu can also download a tickertape veg from http://www.indigipix.com/videotips.htm that is already prebuilt, just substitute your own text.

I was ill for some while, and unable to return to this forum.
But I don't want to seem rude for not appreciating your help.
Thank you all! Your help cleared a lot of bush, and now I see the path :-)
Time for Vegas to do a Ticker Tape Title pre-set, don't you think ?
