okay, just got vegas and have to do something for the family by tomorrow--- trying to learn quickly. please someone give me, in total NOOB terms :) how to do the following please-- thank you

1. i filmed my daughter in front of the green screen. i have a background already on a video 1 track. how do i remove the green screen from that footage and replace it with the video track? Is it a video overlay track? and where is it or how do i add it?

2- trying to add text over video....how do i do that? meaning, i want words to come up on the video as it plays.... so, please help with that

again, please use as descriptive NOOB terms as possible--- trying to learn extremely fast-- thank you

Look for the Chroma Keyer effect. Does Vegas Studio have that now? The older versions didn't. Place the green screen effect on a higher track and the background on a lower track. Add the Chroma Keyer effect to the green screen clip, use the eyedropper tool to select the green. This will allow lower tracks to show through the green. You may have to tweak the sliders a bit to get it to more accurately select the green yet keep the subject solid.

Choose the text template with the checkerboard background and place it on a track above the video, *not* on the same track as the video.

Don't worry about what the tracks are called. They can all do anything the other tracks can do. What's important is that wherever you make part of a track transparent, the tracks beneath it show through.

okay, so i hate Pinnacle, but at least in that it was super easy to do the chroma key--- i have selected it, etc--- but i can't quite get the green screen behind my actor to be removed? i try to do the green screen preset, but nothing happens....and i try and use the dropper, but it either fades out my actor, or just keeps the green screen behind her someway..... Like i have her video clip and it shows the footage behind it, but you can clearly see the green (now blue) screen behind her-- i try green screen and pure green screen, but nothing works
