Tight Edit Joins

I am a new user on Sony Vegas Movies Studio Platinum 9.0b

How can I get a tight edit join? When I add a clip to my project footage, sometimes there is a small gap between the previous footage and the new footage.

OK, I can fiddle about and close the gap, but is there a way of automatically having the new footage snap tight against the adjoining clips in the project?

Thanks

you can try auto-ripple. there is a button on the toolbar with which you can toggle ripple on and off. a lot of times though you just drag one to abut the other with the snap feature (also a button on the toolbar). VMS should show you an indicator (yellow line) when the 2 are exactly up against each other.

1) Set your project properties the same as your media. There are many threads here telling you how to do this.
2) Enable snapping
3) Turn Quantize to Frames on
4) Turn Ignore Event Grouping off
