Time Sensitive Question about Chapter Markers!!!

Hello,

I am new to using Sony Vegas and DVD architect Studio 4.5 and I am creating a DVD to go along with an instructional guitar book that has 11 chapters total and many exercises (examples) to go along with the book. I created each book chapter separately using Vegas and added in all of the chapter markers for each exercises in the DVD architect (I have since read that I should have added in the markers in Vegas before rendering each video, but I went back and tested this and it does not appear to change the following problem). On some DVD players, (mainly laptops using Windows Media Player or similar players) each chapter marker appears as a number rather than the title that I gave it (like Exercise 1.01, Exercise 1.02, etc.) I do not see this as a problem, but the book publisher thinks that the viewer will be confused if the markers to not line up on the DVD (when you hit the next button, it currently calls Exercises 1.01- Chapter 1, Exercise 1.02 – Chapter 2 and so on) and is demanding that I somehow change those marker labels so that they match up with the exercise that is listed in the video. I have not found a way to do this and I need to know if this is even possible.

When I tested several commercial DVDs on my laptop using Windows Media Player, some of the scenes had their own titles for (not chapter numbers) that were visible during playback and some did not have any labels as you advanced to the next scene. If it is not possible to rename the chapters makers to be seen during playback, is there a way to make the DVD without any "Chapter Numbers" appearing at all during playback?

Unfortunately, I am working with a very short deadline (under a week at this point!) for this project and I would greatly appreciate any help regarding this issue!

Thanks so much!

1) Add and name your chapters in your Vegas project.
2) Check "Save project markers" when you render to the DVD Architect video template.

When you import your media in DVDA, the markers will load automatically as chapters the way you named them.

There is no quicker way to do this, especially if you are on a deadline.

I think what you are seeing is dependent upon the Media Player and its settings. For example, Windows Media Player shows the chapter numbers on the right while playing, but if you turn the VIEW PLAYLIST off, the chapter numbers go away.

No matter what you Title the Chapters, they will be referred to by Chapter Number which you obviously cannot make 1.2 or 2.3 etc,.

I hope I understand the dilemma correctly but I don't think there is a fix.

Thanks so much for your responses. Unfortunately, that is what I was worried about - that it is an issue with the DVD player. I am still wondering why some of the commerial/professional DVDs that I tested out of my DVD collection did not show chapter numbers when I watched them on my laptop. However, I'm guessing that it has something to do with the fact they those DVD are created on very expensive professional software. Hopefully the publisher will accept the DVD as is and will not drop the project over something that I apparently cannot change! :(

Thanks again for your responses.
