Time Stamp

Hello,

I have Video Studio Platinum 6 + DVD.

It works very well. When I capture from mini DV tape, I cannot see the tape's time stamp, either on the Preview screen or at replay time
of the .avi file resulting from capture. I can ALWAYS see it on the camcorder though. The Time Stamp (Date & Time at recording) is of paramount importance for my project.

Anyone know how to get it displayed during capture? Or it is NOT captured with the tape's audio/video material by Sony's software at all?

I have the same question. This data is definitely can be captured with the video, as I can see it in the canned "Click to DVD" software that came with my Viao. I can't seem to quickly find it, even in the file properties through explorer (only shows the import date, not the original recording time and date). Is there anywhere in VMS I can see this?

The data should be there, but it's a little hidden. After you've added capture files to a project in Movie Studio, click on the Project Media tab. Using the "View" (looks like a little list of icons/filenames) toolbar button above the Project Media area, select "Detailed" as the view. Then you'll see a lot of info for each file. Scroll way to the right and you can see a column called "Date/Time Stamp." If you want to make it easier to see this while working with files, you can drag that column to the left so it's closer to the filename, etc.

You can also do a similar thing the Video Capture application, by clicking on "All Clips" (or some bin that has clips) and switching the Clip Explorer view to "Detailed."
