Timecode cue

I am using the media gen timecode as a countdown 120 sec cue on a blank media file = nested media veg file in multiple projects. If I cut the veg file to fit @ say ten second mark and reverse as a countdown. will this change anything/ speed etc or affect time in playback cue?

yep..nothing like a new years event with a faulty countdown. but it looked like a rip cord before i jumped!

I was hoping to use Sony Vegas timeline as a running order for the entire event of two hours with markers start and end for each selected event
Render out the entire event for the production crew to play from beginning to end as a cue. Then render the selected events as separate files
which the event crew simply play while watching the main render. Should work but maybe there is something I overlooked.
